There are several ways to resolve a traffic citation:
- To contest the citation, you may appear in court at the location, date and time provided on the digital citation. To access the digital citation, scan the QR code on the card issued to you by the law enforcement officer (see “About the QR code…” for more information regarding the QR code).
- Contact the court before the “Notice to Appear” date to make arrangements with the court, such as deferred disposition or defensive driving. Contact the court for more information.
- You may also resolve the citation by paying fines in full by the date provided:
• You may pay online by clicking on the PAY FINE tab on the website: www.tickets.mytrusteddriver.com
Trusted Driver accepts credit cards, as well as various forms of mobile payment (Google Pay, Apple Pay). A convenience fee will apply.
• Or you may also pay in full by visiting the City of Aransas Pass Municipal Court online payment portal, located at https://www.aptx.gov/196/Municipal-Court
Yes, you have the right to contest or challenge a citation in court. During the court proceedings, you can present your case, provide evidence, and argue why you believe the citation should be dismissed or amended. However, specific procedures and requirements may vary depending on the jurisdiction and the nature of the citation. Contact the court for information regarding instructions on how to contest a citation and seek legal advice, if necessary.
To determine if you qualify for a driving safety course, and if it’s an option for mitigating your citation, you should review the information provided with your citation or contact the court. They can provide guidance on whether you meet the eligibility criteria.
Note: For a driving safety course, you must have a valid Class C driver’s license. You will need to submit a plea form, a copy of your driving record (3A), copies of your driver’s license and insurance, as well as pay court costs of $152 before you can take the course.
Note: For deferred adjudication, you have to be 25 years or older, submit a plea form, as well as a copy of your driver’s license before the court will accept payment for the citation.
Click on the tab marked “Incident” and you will see the Fine Total there. If there is no fee listed, please contact the court.
This citation can be paid immediately if you choose to handle using the payment portal through Trusted Driver or through the City of Aransas Pass Municipal Court link provided.
Contact the court to make specific arrangements regarding your citation, such as requesting an extension to pay a fine.
Contact the court to discuss payment arrangements.
An FTA (failure to appear) charge may be added in addition to your citation. After 60 days from the “Notice to Appear” date, the fine will go to collections. After 90 days, it is reported to the state’s “Failure to Pay” program – also known as OmniBase.
An alternative option, such as Community Service, will be decided by the Judge. You will need to contact the court to submit a plea form, appear in court and speak to the Judge.
You have until the court appearance date noted on your E-Ticket.
If you are unable to pay the fine in full, contact the court to make arrangements or to contest the violations. Do not ignore the citation!
For Driver’s Safety Course: You must have a valid Texas driver’ license, class C and you must fill out a plea form acknowledging that you have not taken a driving safety course within the past 12 months. YOu must submit along with your plea form a copy of your driving record type (3A), copy of your driver’s license and insurance card. You will be responsible for the court cost of $152.00.
For Deferred Disposition: Placing a defendant on deferred disposition is entirely at the discretion of the court. Defendants must request a deferred disposition on or before their appearance date. Must be 25 years of older and submit a copy of their driver’s license. Contact court for costs.
